EUROPE OR BUST 2013

Pack your smallest suitcase
and join us for a whirlwind trip
through Europe!
While traveling
in the
footsteps of famous people
from singing Do Re Me
on the steps of Sound of Music
to blowing of horns at the tops of the
Alps of Switzerland
to the Effle Tower in Paris
then to the shores of
the Italian Riviera
you will see famous paintings...

sculpture...

and architecture...

...while learning history and legends from the locals.

Take a moment to breathe
while waiting to jump on the next train...

playing games on the day trains...

or sleeping on night trains...

you will look forward to nights...
maybe sleeping 10 to a room in the attic floor
at Walters on top of the Alps...

or staying in a quaint Bed and Breakfast

with a view of the famous Neuschwanstein castle

or if you are feeling really rich...
maybe a night in a 5-star luxury hotel room...

with a view of the real Mattahorn!

Along the way we will make a few quick stops
for food and drink....
with Kriss's famous ice cream runs

with just seconds to spare
before the next train departs.

Come Knights and Ladies....you are all invited!

No one is LOCKED out from coming with us.

Start saving your pennies now
so you won't have empty pockets
when it comes time
for a romantic gondola ride for 2!

Estimate Only!

Dear Bodell Travelers:

I have been asked to ESTIMATE the costs of a BODELL WHIRLWIND TOUR OF EUROPE in Summer 2013 for those interested in starting a travel savings account.

I have taken costs from our trip four years ago and added a few quick numbers for this year on flight and Eurail and come up with round numbers of the following.

PER PERSON:

Flight: $1500

Rail Pass: (15 day) $700 (21 day) $900

Hotels and a few night trains: (20 nights) $800 (very shared rooms up to the night we slept 10 of us in the 7 dwarfs beds of Switzerland.)

Activities, entrance fees, buses, taxis, and miscellaneous expenses: $700

Food: not included in budget=starve or feast---but Kriss Whirlwind tour doesn't allow for much time to eat. Plus you have to eat whether you go to Europe or stay home so average that cost accordingly.

Round off to $4,000 per person with 40 months to departure= $100 a month per person.

Maybe add another $500 for a few years of inflation and souvenirs.
